God of War on PS4 and Ragnarök later offers a completely new version of the series, particularly with the use of Nordic mythology. While Rates has always been our murderer of favorite Greek gods, he decided to follow a different path in life by establishing himself in the kingdom of Midgard. Interestingly, the game does not directly explain how it ended in the Nordic world. So how exactly Rates arrives at Midgard in the game?
How did Rates get to Midgard?
The answer actually dates back to two years ago, and is not really explained in the game. During the E3 2016, the game director, Cory Ballot, deepened a bit in the tradition of the game and explained how the mythological belief system of each culture existed under the same umbrella and was simply separated by geography. That said, Rates is very likely to simply take a boat or some other vessel from Greece to Norway to reach the kingdom of Midgard.
This idea is quite interested in the sense that you could configure the series for more mythology in the near future. In an interview with Game Inform, Ballot even mentioned this, stating that the series can end in the Egyptian era and the Mayan era, and so on.
The God of War comics' series: Fallen God by Dark Horse Comics can also shed some light on his trip to this new land, but we don't want to spoil anything.
