Recently the president of Twitch, Dan Clancy , gave updates regarding some monetary changes for content creators, meaning that some would reach less money from the current 1. And before this, the explanation was given that the cost of the servers were increasing, despite this statement, the streamers did not take it very well.
Previously, the company owned by Amazon , had offered a special income division of 70/30 for creators who increased their audience, while most Streamers divided their 50/50 income with the platform. The changes maintained the proportion of 70/30 in the first $100,000 USD for those who obtained this best treatment, then every dollar would be divided into equal parts.
Clancy acknowledged that 22,000 creators asked Twitch to change everyone in 70/30 mode, but said the company will not move in that direction because Amazon costs too much money.
How to understand this: the 500 best creators will obtain 29 % less income per subscriber after reaching $100,000 won in a year. No other Twitch streamer will be affected. More alarming in this publication is that Twitch says that they cannot afford to manage the website.
Even the ex-chief of YouTube wanted to comment:
Regardless of size, the creator should receive a provided amount, this should not even be the subject of debate. The real approach should be to increase the audience throughout the platform to climb advertising dollars.
Without a doubt, this will not end soon for Twitch .
